Philippa Naivasha
Philippa assists children to explore the emotional responses created by trauma resulting from such events as parental separation, death, illness or abuse. She also addresses issues e.g. depression, anxiety, anger management, and lack of self esteem created by learning difficulties, ADHD, or those on the Autism Spectrum. She uses art and drawing, clay, therapeutic story telling, sandplay, puppets and play therapy techniques as part of her practice.
She provides a safe and trusting environment where children are encouraged to use their creativity and imagination to express themselves and explore experiences that are often hard to verbalise.
The experience of emotional and psychological healing at a young age paves the way for the development of a healthy and resilient inner life. The complex and lengthy process of unravelling old damage as an adult can be avoided or at least simplified by early intervention at the time the difficulties occur.
